Francistown, Botswana was the place of my birth. I grew up being inspired by the sounds of Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye, Earth Wind And Fire, Bobby Womack, Brenda Fassie, Ojays, Sam Cooke to name a few. When i reached the age of 13 i moved to California. I grew up listening to Kurtis Blow, Run Dmc, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, NWA, Ice Cube, Ice T, Roxanne Shante, Eazy E, X-Clan, Big Daddy Kane, King T, and Too Short. By 1989 I picked up my first computer, an Amiga 2000 with a 8 bit sampler, a turntable and some records. I learned the art of sampling and making beats, I credit most of the tricks i learned then with the limitations it had. By 93 I moved back to Botswana and hooked up with my boy IQ and Slim and we started making beats and putting out a few records. By 96 I started my own label (Unreleased Records).I released my first maxi single record co-produced by IQ; Snaz and X-Amount (Cashless Society) “Blaze tha Breaks†which was released through independent distribution through Fondlem Records in New York and also in South Africa. In 2003 we put together a full length album of Cashless Society distributed through Sony/BMG records. The album featured the hits "Hottentot Hop Bantu 1,2" , "Taxi Wars", "Summer Craze", "831" and "Words 4 Real" all except "Taxi Wars" and "831" were produced by myself. In 2005 when Cashless Society fell apart, I hooked up with Young Nations and released a full length album through Gallo Record Company. The album is produced by Draztik alongside Megahertz. The first single "Zwakala Emzansi" features Ray Phiri which embodies an old classic Stimela song Called "Zwakala- Come to me". It was an idea I had for many years to feature our own legendary musicians. This was a breakthrough in South African hiphop, because unlike most music that hiphop samples, we managed to get Ray Phiri to replay the classic song and produce it from scratch with my own feel to it.My production credits include Young Nations, Prokid, Flabba (Skwatta Kamp), Apollo Diablo, Cashless Society, Maggz, Imbube, Nomadic and Orakle. I have shared the Stage with Dead Prez, Guru from Gangstarr, Blackalious, DJ Bobbito, Mr Len, Skwatta Kamp, Prokid, HHP, and many more South African acts.
