Backstory: For 7 years I was in a few bands that were all pretty serious and did some cool and exciting things. In June of 2007, my band Distant Hero broke up, I had a lot invested in that band and it was a pretty huge bummer for me when it ended. I decided at that point to open a recording studio for a while to learn some things about songwriting/producing etc. (http://www.myspace.com/thedarkroomrecordingstudio) In the 2 years I've run it, I have had a good flow of business and been able to record some great bands while learning how to record better than I ever expected to. I've learned a lot about the craft of good songwriting, and generally, how a band should and shouldn't operate. The problem is, it isn't genuinely fulfilling, I have missed playing with a band (the brotherhood, the music, the shows etc.) more than I ever imagined I would, it's like a burning need. Jesus has been an important character in my life and he's taught me a lot in the past year about myself. I feel like I've been given the musical talent I have so that I can be out there, bringing joy to people through music. I'm looking for a serious/touring band to play with that is a positive influence in the world we live in. The 2 songs that are up now are re-works of a couple of my old bands songs that were never were recorded that I feel featured some of my better guitar work.
