New York Teens Against Domestic Abuse!
The mission at NY T.A.D.A. is to help raise awareness as well as try and put an end to domestic abuse in teens and adults, of any age, color, or gender. We are encouraging people to speak out, to listen and to take pride in their lives as well as those who have been taken from us do to domestic abuse. Love shouldn't hurt!

Domestic violence does not discriminate, however women between the ages of 16 to 24 experience the highest rate of domestic abuse per capita.
Domestic Abuse includes but is not limited to,
Physical Abuse such as hitting, throwing and cutting. Mental Abuse such as name calling, put downs and guilting. Sexual Abuse such as any forced or non consented, manual sex, oral sex, sexual intercorse or any sexual act that makes you uncomfortable, feel degraded or feel used. Conrol is also considered abuse. Not being able to wear certain clothes or cut your hair, not being able to see friends or family unaccompanied is all forms of control. Jealousy is not love, it is abuse, and it is often at times dangerous.

• In a study of 8th and 9th graders (thats ages 14-16!), 25 percent said that they had been victims of dating violence, including a staggering 8% who admitted to being being sexually abused by a partner!
EXIT • 17.8% of 232 high school girls indicated that they had at some time been forced to engage in some sexual activity against their will by a dating partner.
• 24% of female students between the ages of 15-20 who reported at least one violent act during a relationship, reported the use of rape or weapons against them.
EXIT • Girls who reported that they had been sexually or physically abused were more than twice as likely as nonabused girls to start smoking, drinking and doing illigal drugs. 32% of abused girls reported to binge eating and bulimia.
