Adam Pfannenstiel

Mr. Adam Pfannenstiel is a 2004 graduate of Council Rock High School South in Holland, PA. In 2009, he earned his Bachelor of Music Education/Jazz Performance degree from Temple University’s Esther Boyer College of Music, where he had the opportunity to study with some of the top jazz and classical musicians in the Philadelphia area. They include Dan Monaghan, Steve Fidyk, Glenn Steele, Bill Kerrigan, Terell Stafford, Dick Oatts, Ben Schachter, and Bruce Barth.In 2007, Mr. Pfannenstiel was named winner of the prestigious Temple University-Mellon Jazz Scholarship, a $5,000 tuition award presented to a promising jazz student. In 2008, he was selected as a finalist in the Percussive Arts Society’s Jazz Vibraphone Contest, held in Austin, Texas, where he placed second in the competition. Adam can be found performing in many jazz and classical ensembles throughout the Philadelphia area on Vibraphone, Drum Set, and Piano. He is also and avid composer and arranger.Mr. Pfannenstiel has had the opportunity to perform with some of the great names in jazz such as Branford Marsalis, Nicolas Payton, Benny Golson, The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, John Clayton, Jimmy Heath, Slide Hampton, Frank Wess, Joe Wilder, Clark Terry, Sean Jones, and Carla Cook. His credits include performances at the Detroit Jazz Festival, the Hague Jazz Festival in Amsterdam, the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, Dizzy’s Coca-Cola Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, and The Kimmel Center, Chris’ Jazz Café, and Ortlieb’s Jazz Haus in Philadelphia.As an educator, Mr. Pfannenstiel currently instructs the Drumline at Neshaminy High School in Langhorne, PA and directs the Jazz Lab Band at Council Rock South High School in Holland, PA.
