The A.K.A.P (As Krunk As Possible) Boiz consist of three members; Dontae Sallis a.k.a Young Tezzy, Markquis Walker a.k.a Kuis Antone, and Kevin Jennings a.k.a Mista Nawf. It’s crazy how the group formed. In the summer 2004, Dontae Sallis (Young Tezzy) had his mind made up that he would like to become a successful psychologist one day. Dontae always loved to sit down and talk people’s problem’s out. Dontae was getting ready to start his young adult life as a student at University of Nebraska at Omaha, (Located in Nebraska.) July of 2004, the city held a celebrity basketball game at a local high school. Kevin (Mista Nawf) was a fresh, graduating student. Kevin wanted to pursue his career as a marching band member at Clark Atlanta in Georgia. Kevin was selling a C.D. called, “Ballin is a Habit,†he currently dropped. Dontae bought one form him and Kevin asked, “You do music?’’ Dontae responded, “No I don’t. Granted I do love the passion for music but I don’t do music.†“I have a friend that has does music though.†Kevin responded, “Really! What’s his name?’’ “Chancy replied, Dontae. Dontae hooked the two (Chancy and Kevin) up, and the two started producing great, sounding music. Chancy called Markquis (Kuis Antone) and asked if he will come over Kevin’s house. Markquis responded, “Yes I’ll be there.†Music played in the studio, Kevin stopped the music. “I want to sign you to my record label.†“I don’t rap said, Markquis.†Chancy responded, “Yes you do!†Dontae was the main guy to get the crowd hype to there feet. Markquis was currently going to attend Texas Southern to pursue a career in acting. Markquis thought about the opportunity of becoming a successful artist in the music industry, and chose music over school. Late summer 2004, Chancy, Markquis, Dontae, and Kevin performed shows all over the state of Nebraska. Fall breaks in 04, the three; Kevin, Markquis, and Chancy, just finished up a platinum song called, “In Da Club.†Chancy dislikes his verse on the song and asked if he can re-record his verse. Management felt that the verse was fine, chancy disagrees and dropped form the group. Management decides to promote Dontae to the group, and that is how the A.K.A.P Souljaz begin there real journey in music doing big shows, and built a big fan base. The three Dontae, Markquis, Kevin still push for bigger dreams and goals to hit the major leagues. The group’s biggest break was when Dontae connected with the company that searches for talent the Real Home Team. The connect gave them an opportunity to perform at the Young Joc concert in Kansas City, Missouri 2006. The three pursued the break to talk on a national radio station, Hot 103.3 the beat live that is connected all over Kansas City, Saint Louis, Missouri and Atlanta, Georgia. A.K.A.P. (As Krunk As Possible) performed and got hit up by many A&R’s from different labels because of their performance and talents. Atlanta’s Hottest Artist at the time was Young Joc. Joc response to us was that we will be in the same shoes that he is in now just how hard we work, and dedicated we are. The group received great opportunities with labels like Bad Boy, Grand Hustle, and Def Jam. A.K.A.P. is on a role of many successes to come.
