Add to My Profile | More VideosThe first minute of a Distant Pham song, you will already feel the raw, high energy given off by these two lyricists. Even in high school, rapping over Wu-Tang Clan instrumentals they proved to be a force to be reckoned with coming to the table with freestyles that would match anyones written lyrics. That was years ago imagine how far advanced the Pham is now. It all started the summer of 95 in Okinawa Japan when Reality and Wizard connected and started taking their talents more seriously. Unfortunately taking rap more seriously back then was rapping on instrumentals from singles bought from the store and recording in a studio that consisted of a karaoke machine and microphone. After graduation Wizard and Reality both went into the military to seek a stable life where it would be easy to support their dreams of becoming professional rap artist. Distant Pham has come a long way. The group now has the capability to produce their own music, their lyrics and technique is ten times better, and they have moved up from a karaoke machine to a digital multi-track recorder. The Wiz now makes beats using the MPC 2000XL, which is the tool of choice for many industry level artists such as Outkast, Dr. Dre, and High-Tech. The Pham also records using their Roland VS-1880 that is used by artist such as Neptunes. These advanced tools of recording and beat making (plus talent), put the group ahead of many of the local artist in the area. Their style of up beat, fluent rapping complete with well thought out (witty) lyrics set them above the rest. There's no doubt that Distant Pham's specialty is the battle rap format, but they are not limited to just that. Their versatility is proven on such tracks as "Sik" or "Follow Me" where they use a tongue twisting mid-western style or tracks such as "The Love" where they describe in detail thier love for hip hop. In this day and age there are a lot of commercial happy rappers polluting the industry, making people dance to songs without seeing the fact that their rhymes are garbage. Well Distant Pham is here to correct that making sure that hip-hop takes its rightful place in this music business. The Pham is equipped with the talent to make people vibe to their music without compromising the real essence of rap. 2004 marks a new millennium and Distant Pham are the prophets of the new era. Bear witness as Distant Pham reach Deep Inside Souls That Are Never Touched and stay tuned.
