Gbatokai Dakinah

Born in Denmark to a Danish mother and Liberian father, Gbatokai Dakinah is a bass player who grew up in New York City. With a career spanning 25 years, he has played worldwide and studied in various locales, such as Cameroon. His stylistic abilities and preferences vary. Some of the notable projects he has been a part of include: - The Bell Cafe (dub/jazz) - Squelch (fusion/jungle) - Aqui (sci-fi/operatic/punk/metal) - Dragons of Zynth (afro-tech) - The Ambassadors of Mandingo (traditional african) - Baye Kouyate et Les Tougarake (traditional african).In addition, Gbatokai has played live with Fred Wesley (James Brown), Brian McNight, and the Screaming Headless Torsos.
