the names of cities or concerts, T.V. shows and clubs in which Jeremiah has appeared.
He has appeared in concert with Conway Twitty, George Jones, Mel Tillis, Tammy
Wynette and other super stars in country music.Jeremiah started singing in church at a very early age with two sisters and a brother
who were known as the 'Thompson Quartet.' The group appeared on a weekly TV
show called the 'Barn Dance' and had their own radio show. They appeared in
churches and gospel concerts with such groups as the Oak Ridge Boys, the
Blackwood Brothers, the Statesmen and all the top gospel groups of that era.A few years later, the Army called his older brother Charles to military duty which
broke up the group. Jeremiah started singing 'solo' in clubs with bands. While in
the Army, Charles was stationed in Germany and re-established his acquaintance
with Elvis Presley. Charles and Jeremiah had met Elvis when the family quartet
sang on the "Louisiana Hayride" before Elvis became a legend. When Charles
returned from the Army, he talked Jeremiah into moving to California to join
Charlie Hodge, who was then with Elvis. Together with Charlie Hodge and
George Richie, Jeremiah and his brother reformed the 'Foggy River Boys.' This
group did back-up work in studios in Hollywood, appeared in night clubs across
the country and did many national TV shows. This group also worked in Las
Vegas, Reno and Lake Tahoe. It was during this period of time in Hollywood
where Jeremiah earned the reputation of being with the "in-crowd" of Elvis Presley.Soon after this, Charles and Jeremiah formed their own group called the Thompson
Brothers and signed a record-deal with Dot Records and also signed a five-year con-
tract with Paramount Pictures. They also worked in night clubs, did movies and
TV shows with CBS, ABC and NBC; and their first release, "Don't Walk Away,"
was a hit.Later, Jeremiah moved to Memphis when Elvis and his entourage left Hollywood.
(He had lived in an apartment in Hollywood with Red West and Sonny West who
were both bodyguards for Elvis). At that time, Jeremiah could be seen singing in
clubs and doing recording sessions in Memphis...while finally edging his way to
Nashville where he found himself in great demand.Eventually, Jeremiah moved to Nashville, formed his own band and started working
in clubs, as well as studio work, T.V. shows and recording. He has been in all phases
of the music industry such as producing, running a major publishing company, pro-
moting, writing, as well as owning his own booking agency and record company.
Jeremiah has performed in such renown places as Printer's Alley, Opryland and The
Captain's Table; and has appeared on many TV shows such as the Ralph Emory
Show in Nashville. While in Nashville, Jeremiah released several records such as "Gone," "She Loves
Me Right Out of My Mind," "I Loved You, I Lost You" (from Elvis to Priscilla),
and "To Be Loved." All of Jeremiah's records received national airplay and charted
in "Cash Box," "Billboard" and "R&R."Jeremiah has a three-octave range and can handle all types of music. He often re-
ceives standing ovations in concerts. He also takes pride in the fact that he has
worked with the top musicians in the world of the music business.Jeremiah owned and operated a general construction business in Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma; and also built and owned apartment houses and shopping centers in
Oklahoma and Texas. He also bought several night clubs and restaurants while
continuing his singing career.
Jeremiah, also known as Jerry Thompson, now takes pride in the fact that he is
singing for Jesus...the gospel music he so loved as a child. He is married to
Sharon Corvin, a singer he met in Hollywood; and they now appear together in
concerts. They have had their own TV show and records that have received
national and international acclaim.Jeremiah has completed new albums entitled "The Greatest Story is His" and
"Sing Me a Love Song." You will not want to miss a heart-rendering, soul
experience when their concert comes to your town.
