I love light and different ways of experimenting with it, Motion - we are always in motion not only physically but also inside the body where blood flows like a rolling film. Life is too long to be pissed off all the time.

BIOGRAPHY
Vlad Martins was born in Portugal. The son of an artist and surrealist, he was raised in a small town outside Lisbon where he worked and studied art at his father's gallery which later developed into digital art using computers. In 1992 Vlad moved to the centre of Lisbon and began working for several computer companies creating websites and computer graphics imagery.
In 1999 Vlad moved to London and enrolled in Thames Valley University in order to further his knowledge and to pursue a more visual use of imagery. As a student at TVU, Vlad made several films, including 'Mindweb' with Magda Rodriguez and J.D.Kelleher.
In 2004 a composer approached Vlad with an idea of making a film which would be screened with a live orchestra. Vlad created and directed 2 films, 'A couple of coffees' and 'In a lucid dream', which were screened along with a live orchestra at Royal Academy of Arts at the 'Bound' event which was completely sold out.
Vlad went onto working at Framestore-CFC, one of the top special effects company who created several CGI-effects for Harry Potter and many other films, he worked on material for 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' as a trainee digital painter and rotoscope artist.
In 2005 he left Framestore-cfc to pursue a more directorial career and joined Ice Films. There he worked as a line producer for several top bands like 'The Kooks' with 'You don't love me' 'which was featured number 6 on top of the pops and many other channels, also for 'The Faders' with 'Look at me now'. Besides promos he worked as a production assistant on a commercial for Barber Smith advertising agency for client Merry Hill with a christmas TV ad. He was also responsible for creating graphics and special effects for a historical documentary about Siwa and Egypt.
He joined Decode Productions in 2006 and become in charge of opening the production department, getting Directors reels together, organizing shoots, meetings with record labels and many other tasks. Besides producing he has been directing promos through existing contacts from unsigned to signed bands.
Inspired by Stanley Kubrick and David Fincher, Vlad Martins is always looking for new ways of expressing a visual meaning without a lot of dialogue, silence can have an advantage to the signification of a composition.
