About Me

In a world of crashing bones, I struggle somewhere between decadence and despair and live in a sonic patchwork blanket, or something pretentious like that ;)
I'm a linguist and I obsess over Goethe and Sartre and deny any patriotism towards any one country. I like to sneer critically at current affairs and politics, as all young people have an obligation to do. (I'm fiercely left wing before you try to argue with me). Mostly I like music, dressing up, playing my guitar and people who make me smile myself inside out. I love meeting new people and I hate it when friendships fade.
During 2006/7 I lived in Innsbruck, Austria, which is one of the most wonderful places in Europe and maybe someday I'll return on a more permanent basis. I love looking up and seeing mountains everywhere, it makes you feel somewhat humble and very inspired. I have also lived in Brussels, Belgium, where there are many antiques shops, stalls with fur coats (from animals which died of entirely natural causes one would hope) and beautiful things.
I'd like to say that I grew up listening to The Smiths and Pulp, but I'm too young for that, so I'll come of age to Morrissey, Jarvis and Brett Anderson instead. The first tape that I ever bought was Meatloaf and since then I've had an alarmingly broad taste in music; I'll listen to anything, except patronising emo and metal bands with names like Goat Sodomy (that's probably a real one) because if they can't chose a decent name you can't expect them to articulate themselves any better through music. Oh, and I'm a Manics fan complete with leopard print and DIY tshirts. But I really miss the 18th century and the splendid 20's.
I'm Online Editor of Room Thirteen so please come and peruse our reviews, features and wonderful stuff. I have also worked in music PR.
I also dabble in performance poetry and modelling

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People who restored my faith in the human condition. People who will sit and talk about the formation of stars in the night sky with me until the early hours. The lovechild of Polly Jean Harvey and Jarvis Cocker, mentored by Morrissey, taught French by Brian Molko, draped in feather boas by Nicky Wire and with the wit of Eddie Izzard. You might well call it Frankenstein...and so might I, but we must have dreams.

Cats, in general, of the human and non human kind.
