Music, Films, Art - After 4 pints who knows what I'll be babbling on about!
Anyone who isn't an arse
Too many, Too little space. Have you heard of a band called Imperial Leisure - they're great. Look them up.
Aim, Aphex Twin, Beastie Boys, Beck, Bjork, Goldfrapp, Jeff Buckley, Lamb, Magnet, Moloko, Sia, PJ Harvey, Portishead, Red Snapper, Sigur Roslek, Thomas Ades, Mercury Rev, Muse, Radiohead, Massive Attack, Nightmares On Wax, John Barry, Nyman, Gorecki, Glass, Adams, Verdi, Maximo Park, Elbow...
Usually Dark films by unheard of directors. Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, In The Mood For Love, Dancer In The Dark, Matrix, ...hold on let me think about this properly... tbc.
'The Trap' by Adma Curtis - Scarey and true eye-opener about freedom, politics and society.
I was into 'Lost', but now it's gotta be 'Skins', great stuff. 'Planet Earth' had my eyes glued. If i say 'Eastenders' is that sad? (well I am a Londoner!)... 'Spooks' for the script, BBC sheakspeare adaptions for their sheer good drama... oh and 'little brittan' and I've started to get into history programs - am I getting old??
'Affulenza' by Oliver James. Great.
Iain Banks with and without an 'M.' The best.
I started reading 'Faust' by Gothe, but it ain't half heavy!
'Outsider' by Albert Camus - but depressing.
Reading 'Alfuenza' at the mo... quite good... and scarey.
'The Trail' Kafka.
'Collapse' How societies choose to succeed or fail. Mmm... i think there's lessons to be learnt.
'High Tide' by Mark Lynas. We can't stop global warming now, it's too late, but we can slow it down.
The End Of Oil. We're all up shits creek unless we come up with a new energy economy.
Who needs them!
