About Me

Gino Rerimassie:
Thousands of years ago, I started to pick up the guitar (my guitar was bigger then me). I was taught how to play the guitar the Dutch-Indo way: just by watching and listening; most importantly, using your ears.
Actually I never had a guitar lesson in my life. It was my dad (a very talented guitar player himself) who showed me how to play.
Soon after he showed me a thing or two, I started a family- and friends band and played everywhere.
A couple of years later in 1987, I was asked by some local rock musicians to record some demos, together with songwriter Arnie Treffers, better known as Long Tall Ernie (and the Shakers).
The band was named: Zinatra and got the opportunity to record an album in Wisseloord Studios (Hilversum), with engineer, producer Erwin Musper.
Their first single "Love or Loneliness" did pretty good and was a hit in Holland in 1988. Zinatra toured as support act for David Lee Roth..s Skyscraper tour (with Steve Vai) in Europe and played in England, Scotland, France, Spain, Italy, Scandinavia and Holland).
In 1989 Zinatra went to Taiwan and Thailand and South America (Uruguay and Chile) to promote Philips.. "Moving on Sound" campaign and do some gigs.
At the end of that year the band went into the studio again to record their 2nd album. (Again with producer/engineer Erwin Musper). In 1990, the 2nd album was released.
Shortly after that time, the band fell apart and everybody kind of went their own way.
Here' s a video I found on youtube: Zinatra, 'Love Or Loneliness'.
Just push play!
haha...
Shortly after this period, I formed a new band with my brother and some close friends of mine and we went to Jakarta (Indonesia) to check out the music scene.
We played in the clubs for months (literally every night !). The band got signed and delivered 2 albums. 2 videos were made.
I also worked in Jakarta as a studio session/ guitar player and engineer. We really had a blast.
Crazy enough, the band even became one of the musical entertainers for one of the princesses from Brunei. She liked the band so much, she would invite us everywhere from Jakarta to London and Brunei in her own playground, just to be entertained (musically).
A couple of years later my life totally changed.
My wife Corina and I got a beautiful daughter, named Amber. (the greatest gift ever). That was a major change. I wanted to be a good father. So I slowed down a bit and became a family man.
Music wise, I was helping out a couple of bands here, there and everywhere.
In 2006, I received a call from a guy who asked if I was interested in starting a singer/songwriter project with him. This project is called SazzGin .
Thought it was about time to push the play button again...
In the summer of 2007, I met an old friend of mine in the States: Caspar .
We decided to make some music together and did a gig with some friends in Holland...It was Awesome!!
You can watch some videos on YouTube or Vimeo.com.
For a year or so, I have been playing with Joss Mennen (the singer of Zinatra from way back). His band is simply called : Mennen . Check out the latest album: " Planet Black ".
Anyways, at home, I usually pick up my acoustic guitar and clear my mind:
