Half a tank of gas, and some open road...

About Me

A 21 year old singer songwriter from Yorktown, VA, Sam found his passion from his earliest experiences performing in church. As a teen he performed and traveled for competitions in a high school vocal jazz ensemble, although his true love for music was anchored in country and southern rock. He began playing guitar, singing and competing in local venues in the Lynchburg and Hampton Roads area. He was named Talent of the Year from the Donks Theater competition. More recently he has played venues throughout Virginia, and some in West Virginia and North Carolina. He has had the opportunity to meet artists Phil Vassar, Pat Green, Halfway to Hazard, Little Big Town, and Sarah Johns; and the honor to sing with Craig Morgan, Lee Brice, Tim McGraw, and various local musicians. He recently opened for David Allen Coe. In Nashville, he has written music with Brian White and David Frasier. He is currently working on a music project that has moved him to Nashville. Influenced by country legends like Johnny Cash, Randy Travis, and Tim McGraw, Sam's music is soulful tradition mixed with some 90's influences that create his unique style.

Influences: This could turn into a short novel, so I will keep it brief. I’m mainly influenced by country greats like Johnny Cash, Travis Tritt, Garth Brooks, Randy Travis, and Tim McGraw. Thanks to my co-writer Austin Evans, we also pull some from the 90s pop rock scene: think Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox 20, and Eagle Eye Cherry.I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
