So, uh... I started writing music at age 11. I enjoyed writing music because it made me feel like my words actually meant something when I felt nobody else gave a fuck. I used writing as a method to ventilate my emotions. I spent most of my earlier days writing music and poetry. Influentially, I found myself listening to a lot of early-mid 90's Rap artists. I was still kind of young, so the whole "music" thing was on and off for me. After about 3 years, I decided to take a shot at actually recording the music I've wrote. My first song was wack. I look back at it now and laugh, but a year or two ago you might've caught me saying, "It wasn't THAT bad!" I don't recall many of my older songs, but I'll never forget that first one.
Skipping ahead, it was time for me to create my first mixtape. A mixtape is a shittier version of an album, just with more collaborations and remixes. My first mixtape was entitled "Destined 2BA Legend". I'll be honest... creating it was pretty fun. I had elevated enough to call myself "OK" as an artist, and I actually had a couple fans. Recording was easy. I put out so many damn tracks that the mixtape came out 2 months or so after it had been thought of! ... Looking back now, it was just a mediocre mixtape, nothing too special as far as content or distribution. (reaching around ~1k copys distributed through the web & hard copies).
Now days I am working on my next mixtape which will be called "Road 2 Stardom". I am pushing for the '09 release so be ready for it, because it's definitely coming. My goal is to have it out by mid '09. It will feature a wide variety of talent, including up & coming rappers and producer(s). Namely 'King C', who co-produced "We Make Money".
