Quatuor Orphée

Polyvalentes, dynamiques, ces musiciennes prennent plaisir à renouveler le répertoire du quatuor à cordes. Leur mission, sortir des lieux communs! Elles passent par les montées lyriques des grands classiques jusqu’à l’énergie brute du rock ou encore des rythmes langoureux du tango à l’esprit festif de la musique populaire.Les membres puisent, entre autres, leur inspiration à travers leurs collaborations avec différents artistes et arrangeurs. Dans le cadre du festival d’été de Québec 2007, elles ont accompagné le rappeur de renommée internationale Kanye West sur les plaines d’Abraham. En novembre 2007, elles ont joué au Centre Bell de Montréal et au Scotiabank Place à Ottawa avec le Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Certaines d’entre elles ont aussi partagé la scène avec Corneille, Mario Pelchat, DJ Chester, Mika et Barry Manilow. Le Quatuor Orphée participe également à des événements corporatifs et à plusieurs sessions d’enregistrements à Montréal et à Toronto.---------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------- The members of the Orphée Quartet are dynamic musicians whose talent can be observed through the various musical styles they explore. They take pleasure in renewing the string quartet’s classical repertoire, which is their mission: to move from the quartet’s classics to explore new horizons. The Orphée Quartet explores the lyrical side of the greatest classics to the pure energy of rock music. Furthermore, their repertoire also moves from the passionate rhythm of tango to the festive spirit of popular music. The members’ inspiration comes from their collaborations with various artists and arrangers. During the Quebec’s 2007 Summer Festival, on the Plains of Abraham, the Orphée Quartet has accompanied artists such as Kanye West, internationally recognized rapper. In November 2007, the Orphée Quartet has also played at the Bell Center, in Montreal, and at the Scotiabank Place, in Ottawa, along with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Some members of the quartet also played with Mika, DJ Chester and Barry Manilow. They also accompanied Corneille and Mario Pelchat, two francophone singers.
