About Me

Embrase is the musical project of Marc Bras, a dutch electronic music composer.
Born on the 26th of march 1965, he already made his first contact with electronic music in the late 70’s with Jean-Michel Jarre’s famous ‘Oxygene’-album. More records with synthesizer music followed. Records made by artists like Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, Kitaro and Ron Boots. But also the less synthesizer orientated music of Mike Oldfield, Alan Parsons, Andreas Vollenweider, Gandalf and Hans Zimmer. The more he listened to these fascinating sounds, the more he was convinced that this was the kind of music he would like to make himself. Marc bought his very first synthesizer in 1979. It was the monophonic CASIO VL-Tone VL-1. One of those truly bizare products in musical history. Marc’s first real synth was a Roland U-220 module. He bought it in 1999 from Ron Boots and started with a Toshiba laptop and Evolution midi-keyboard to self-educate keyboard-playing. During the years, Marc collected more and more equipment to set up his own studio.
In 2004 he finally started to embrace the electronic ‘soundworld’ he had always dreamt of: project Embrase was born on the 9th of October 2004.
Embrase’s music combines complex rich atmospheric soundpads, subtle rhythms, sparkling sequences and fresh melodies. All professionally produced in 24-bit recording technology.
On the 15th of October 2005 Embrase's first album has been released by Groove Unlimited. Title of this album: 'dreamworld'.
At the moment he’s working on his second album: ‘another day, another world’.
Embrase is contracted at Groove Unlimited, the world's largest distributor/CD-company for electronic music.
