About Me

Here After have been around since early 2001, when Jimmy, Åke and David started out in Jimmys basement with pretty much some dropD chords and a Deftone cover, and the never dying desire to be in a Bad Ass Band. Jimmy and Åke had earlier been in the infamous Towards Nothing together, but neither one had been doing much musically in the last few years. David, on the other hand, was a busy young bassist, playing in Scrappy by the time, and probably about seven more bands. After a couple of months just jamming around whenever there was time, Danny, just recently moved in to Sundsvall from Prospect, Ct, joined the band and voila! We had ourselves a singer! We got pretty serious there for a while, writing songs and trying to blend our different styles of music together and after just a few months we were sitting on nine or ten songs, and were ready to record a demo and play the local scenes. The demo came out nice, much thanks to good ol’ Ronny Pale at Trackline Studio, and Here After made themselves a small, but still, a name in Sundsvall (And even so in Prospect…..: ) Even though the gigs following the demo were kinda few in numbers… A second demo was recorded the following year, this time with four songs, slightly longer and with more…..Riffs? Here After didn’t make it to the big scenes this time either, but we sure had some on-stage fun on a couple of private parties and gigs around home.By the fall of 2002 we found ourselves without a rehearsal room and were therefore forced to lay low for a while, as we turned Dan’s garage to what it is today, the Pig and Fresh rehearsal and studio complex! Or something. (It’s 4 by 5 meters…) But it’s cozy, painted blue, and it’s kicking!Summer 2003, the Never-Wanted-To-Be-Two-Sided e.p. was released, as a sample on what we were doing out here in the garage, and Reasons, the somewhat mellow a-side song, became the radio hit of the summer! (Hey, where I work it was...) We played the Smack rock festival and Sundsvalls Gatufest that year, only to return to the garage after that, finishing up what came to be the Long Year album released fall 2004.And then noone heard shit from the band...But there's been writing.....secretely...So You Be On The Lookout!
