I got to document the recording session of the first new album by Yuesef Islam (Cat Stevens) in over 25 years. It was phenomenal!!!

I'm a photographer in Burbank, CA
I graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California receiving a Bachelor of Professional Arts Degree in Commercial Photography with a minor in Portraiture. I started doing work for Angel Records, the classical division of EMI records in 1988. My uncle, Marvin Schwartz, was an Art Director at Angel and Capitol Records for 35 years, winning four Grammy awards. Marvin was the designer of the actual Grammy trophy. I totally emulated him; he was my hero.
Through him I met and became good friends with renowned 60s photographer, Henry Diltz. It was Henry that introduced me to a young publicity coordinator for Capitol Records, named Sujata Murthy in 1989. Sujata is now a vice president at Universal Music Enterprises and she and I are still good friends to this day. She is responsible for bringing me up in the world of music and record companies and she is also the one that pushed me into taking the leap into the era of digital photography.
In February 2002 I became affiliated with a great company called WIRE IMAGE. I was actually recruited into building up the archive of stand-up comedians for WireImage by senior photo editor, Sam Mircovich.
In April of 2003, I became the official photographer of the world famous Ice House in Pasadena, CA. I have a great relationship with the Ice House owner, Bob Fisher, and am very thankful for the opportunity that Bob has extended.
