The ska-punk band formed 1992 was named after a Kaneko video game where the winner successfully uncovers the picture of a lady, usually naked. With quirky but catchy lyrics and hard edge rock 'n' ska sound, Gals Panic became a favorite local and touring band before ska went commercial in the late 1990s. The band's song "Gal's Panic" is included in the 1994 compilation Skarmageddon, Vol. 1, and featured in the soundtrack for Steven Soderbergh's The Underneath in 1995. (GP also appears in the movie!) That same year they independently released a full-length album, I Think We Need Helicopters. After extensive touring, Lance, Jerm, Cardinal, and Steve disbanded amicably in 1997 to pursue other interests. They reunited for a show at Emo's in Austin, TX on June 2, 2007.
