The Story, early on in the 21st century
Im not saying i'm over DJing. that would be silly. there's that special feeling that comes in between a couple perfectly matched records that is like no other, and all the faces on the dance-floor, mmmmm...like no other. But there's this other feeling that comes, every so often, when a whole group of people get together and try and try and try, we scowel at our notes, climb over the high sand dunes of discouragement and downers, and then all of the sudden wham , we are all beat-matched like records, but more than that, we are soul matched , we are creating in the moment, making music from our hearts in the same time, i think Bob Marley said it best in what's become the cliché "We JAMMIN". So thats what the Rithma Road Show is after - the magic that comes straight out of the ether and injects itself into our heads like heroine from god. Who knows why it happens. Some say its the universe singing through us. Others may say its alchemy. So i'm not going to lie - we've got our work set out for us. We're past the mundane shit, i mean we're actually riding the beat now, and it's starting to sound good. We're using the songs from the new Rithma album "Sex Sells" as a framework, which were primarily created under a microscope in the studio and contain a solid foundation of electronic beats and melodies...and...so....what im saying is its a formidable task to take a fully quantized and layered ice cream sundae of music production, put it to sleep with chloroform, dissect it, reverse engineer it, and spit it back out in the form of a rocking, semi electronic, mostly live jam band. But we're going to do it, i tell you,we're gonna tape it all together here with the sickest drummer youve ever heard, .... we're going to ride high on the countryside into the Burning Man-esque campouts, gonna make you happy while you dance in the starlight and cry to the moon, then were gonna absorb all that goodness and push it into the cities, through the nightclubs, till you all forget about the meat market and the rat race, till you wanna dance all the time and quit your dayjob, Till you hear Nica Brooke's layered vocal loops in your head and Al Kal's facemelting basslines in your abdomen... basically what im saying is we're going to take over the world with things like friendship and sharing and BOMB ASS TUNES BABY. come out and see us soon. if you bring an instrument and can play, you're more than welcome to come on stage.with love /rithmastories -
