Uncle Junior was born to Corrado and Mariangela D’Agostino Soprano. Junior was the older of his two brothers. Ercoli, better known as Eckley, was mentally challenged and so his home was in a mental institution. Giovanni, better known as Johnny Boy was the father of Tony Soprano.After dropping out of school, Uncle Junior and Johnny Boy soon found themselves among the DiMeo clang. With Tony’s mother being aware of what had happened she took this opportunity to get back at her son. She persuaded Uncle Junior to kill Tony. However, he was not successful in his plans and Tony dealt with him severely.The FBI was moving in and they placed Uncle Junior under house arrest for the charge of racketeering. The FBI also used their methods of persuasion to get him to reveal to them certain information, but to no avail. He kept quiet.Finally the day arrived when it was time for him to be brought before a group of jurors. The case against him was pronounced a mistrial.As with several of his counterparts, Uncle Junior was diagnosed with cancer and he was afflicted with a few small strokes. Shortly after the strokes, he begun to suffer from memory lapses, even though to a certain degree he was able to be back in the graces of his nephew Tony.Since his first case was ruled a mistral, the Feds still had him under house arrest due to the fact that they were planning to take him back to court. It was while he was under arrest and due to his mental state, he thought that Tony was an old enemy and he shot him. Tony almost died.Uncle Junior is presently in a mental institute unable to understand why he cannot go back home.Dominic Chianese was born on the 24th February 1932 in Bronx, New York.
