I tend to obsess about things a bit. My husband suspects I may be autistic, I think I am just brilliant and his simple mind can not grasp my complexities. He is probably right though. When I find something that interests me I don't just say "Hey, wow, that is pretty neat". No. Not me. Take for example Moby Dick. I didn't just read it. I read it twice, and listened to it on unabridged audio (18 hours) and read books about the Whaleship Essex which is the factual ship the story is loosely based upon. I read firsthand whaling narratives and books about Moby Dick in american art. I get a little crazed. I am in a constant state of shock at the wonders of life, but I am usually really wound up and on the verge of a complete emotional mental meltdown. But I'm pretty happy about it all (thank you to modern medicine...I have lost the ability to feel sadness..hooray! I'm magic!) I also lack any kind of internal monitor that stops me from saying EVERY little thing that pops into my head. I bounce around like some kind of coked up monkey and then I crash and get really bitchy and whine and then sleep for about 12 hours.Newsweek calls me "A sheer delight..."
Rolling Stone considers me "absolutely enthralling, the most interesting person alive..."And yet I remain oh so very humble.
