About Anirban Roy Chowdhury, born in a musical family in Assam on 31st Aug, 1979 is a young promising tabla player, both as a soloist as well as accompanist,Anirban's training in tabla started at a very young age of 5 years from his father Shri Akhil Roy Chowdhury and afterwards from his elder brother shri Animesh Roy Chowdhury.In the year 1995 Anirban came to mumbai and had the priviledge of getting direct traning from the great tabla Maestro Ustad Allarakha Khan for a period of 7 years. Later on he continued his training under Pandit Yogesh Samsi, one of the seniormost disciples of Ustad Allarakha khan and a very well known tabla player of today.Anirban's music is the spontaneous expression of his powerful emotions and his deep knowledge of Tabla. His ingenuity has ushered in a purely new style of Tabla playing. It is undoubtedly through his clarity and elegance of performance, both as an accompanist and as a soloistAnirban has recently completed Sangeet Visharad degree ( B.Mus) in tabla from Bhatkhande Sangeet Mahavidyalaya Lucknow.Presently Anirban is on the staff of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Sangeet & Nartan Shikshapeeth, Mumbai.Anirban had been on a concert tour in USA, Canada,France, Germany, UAE and Bangladesh,You can email me at: [email protected] and call me at: 0091-9820160531
