Tired of all the hype and broken promises from every band saying they’re the next big thing? In Orange County, California, rock fans are ecstatic about what they know…Bagg of NoiZe! This powerhouse trio of OC-bred David Michael Williamson, Justin Roman and Zach Goodwin has bought back the power of raw, guitar driven, rock and roll. This ultimate garage band formed in late 2006 to share their fiery mix of Rock, R&B, Jazz and Latin influences with the world. Bagg of NoiZe (www.baggofnoize.com) has built a passionate following with dynamic live gigs at hotspots like Martini Blues in Huntington Beach, the Fender Avenue Bar in Fullerton, Mai Tai in Long Beach and The District Lounge in Orange, where over 300 local fans regularly come to see this rock trio. Twice a month, Bagg of NoiZe strips down for an “Unplugged†set at Gaetano’s in La Habra.
“Playing live is a pretty big deal for us,†says Dave. “We’re out there having fun, transferring that adrenaline rush we feel onstage to the audience and connecting with the energy.†Zach, who has made a trademark of leaving the stage with his bass as the crowd gathers around him adds, “The biggest thing for us is entertaining people. Writing and recording songs is an awesome experience, but nothing beats that live interaction and connecting with the fans.†One fan put it best about what the trio brings to every performance: “A Bagg full of incredible original songs.â€
In an industry loaded with copycat, cookie cutter bands, BON dares to break the mold and set their own trends. “Our music is pretty different from anything being done todayâ€, says Dave, “It’s melodic with an edge but with strong vocal harmonies. But that’s just part of it. Fans will recognize some stylistic elements, but we take those beyond anything they’ve heard beforeâ€.
Justin says, “We’re not followers because we prefer to set our own trends. When we practice in my garage every day, we’re never on a mission to sound like other bands. We just want to go out there, have a blast and play rock and roll. We love using all sorts of diverse sounds. The reason we call ourselves Bagg of NoiZe is that we’re choosing the noise we want to make. No need to put a label on it. We’re truly a full service band!â€
Bagg of NoiZe creates its distinctive, progressive sounds naturally. This power trio draws from their musical influences and their incredible ability to play a wide variety of instruments. David Michael Williamson, 21-years-old, plays guitar, piano, organ, tenor sax, recorder and harmonica, studied and performed jazz at a local community college and incorporates a lot of that genres melodic ideas. Justin Roman, 20-years-old, plays drums and is also proficient on piano, tenor sax and harmonica; he was influenced growing up by two classic rock drummers, Maurice McKinley from the Steve Miller Band and Jim Masdea of Boston. Zach Goodwin, 19- years-old, plays bass and also percussion and listens to everything from rock and rap to jazz.
Bagg Of NoiZe is currently selling their music on-line. They plan to record their debut CD within the next year. BON is managed by well-known industry veterans Patricia Bock and Al Masocco. Bock and Masocco’s years of experience in launching and shaping artists for the record industry giant, CBS/Sony/BMG gave them a unique opportunity to work with and create strategies for such legendary acts as The Rolling Stones, The Clash, Jeff Beck, Pink Floyd, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine and others. Both Patricia and Al envision eventual stardom on this level for Bagg of NoiZe. They both agree that they have not felt this invigorated about an act for many years. “Dave, Justin and Zach are young, talented and determined to do what they need to do to thread that musical needle and make things happenâ€, says Masocco. Patricia adds, “That combination of incredible music and drive is inspiring to someone like me who has been in the industry trenches for years. We haven’t seen this kind of excitement over a band in a very long time, and we’re all eager to see what the future holdsâ€.
