The Jaywalkers

In 2005 4 guys with different, but interesting musical histories got together with the idea of making an instrumental funk/fusion band, inspired by bands like the headhunters and weather report they started jamming every week in the drummers Basement. in the beginning they played covers and Jazz standards like Chameleon (herbie hancock) but thanks to the composing skills of Mario and Robert-Jan the band didn't need to steal songs for a long time.With original new songs like Sep Ass and Boycott the band felt ready to perform and after an month they had their first performance in a Restaurant, unpaid, no monitors and the volume turned down so low that you couldn’t hear the music if someone coughed, but they had fun and it was the beginning of a long list of performances. After that first performance new bookings kept coming and the band proved to be a good live band, capable of rocking a big crowd with hard funk as well as creating a relaxed atmosphere for private parties with some relaxed bossa tunes.
