The Musical Journey
Naturalism says THANKS its tribalistic, electromanic, technofantastic, funking gorgeous selection of artists that played solely for your dirty and twisted musical needs.GARY O'DONNELLWay back in the rarefied days of smiley faces and fingerless gloves the 80s and 90s produced Naturalism’s opening and most unconventional DJ, Gary O’Donnell. O’Donnell caused clear waters to turn a wee bit murky back in the day; DMC 87’ & 89’ semi finalist and Ministry of Sound Resident 93’ & 94’, Gary O’Donnell don’t do funky how you think you know it. His classic house sets blend today’s ideas of funk with a forgotten past that smiles warmly at where it all started. Smooth Vocals eagerly touch lips with prickly scratching and beats get sliced up quicker than Ken Hom can say Stir Fry. Prolific Beat juggler, Gary O’Donnell plays the upbeat, the funky and is arguably the perfect warm up to a 9 hour session of house music madness.PUSH DJsRoughly two years ago the heavens pissed down on talentsville UK and created Push DJs. Well in fact, what actually happened was Dan and Robin got together and created an act that has grown into what can only be described as a compliment to the UK’s live electronic music scene. Push DJs are not ones to be labelled or tied down to any particular style, what they do is create sweet sweet electronic treats and beats. Hooked up with laptop, 4 decks, percussionist and vocalist, don’t you know ;) these guys just keep smashing through the walls of what’s considered in the industry as conventional. From Dragon Festival Spain, to the bottom of our favourite bog in Public Life, Push DJs are set to rock the wildlife into shape for Naturalism.FILTH & SPLENDOUR
Maximal Residents at KEY London, Filth and Spledour are most definitely dirty and set to make your nipples go ping! These boys have been turning a lot of heads in the industry recently and it seems their musical careers are fast set to hype me up mode! Oli and James have been wetting their musical whistles for a long time now and with regular nights every Saturday @ Thirst Bar Soho it seems that Naturalism may get a little bet wet itself from 20.00 onwards. Filth & Splendour have graced revellers with their electro gold and brilliant parties like ISSST, Slang, Seven and Push; these boys are definitely ones to keep your eye on; Naturalism welcomes Filth & Splendour to the decks with big love and open arms.LUKE WILLIAMS (Naturalism Resident)
Hands off…he’s ours mo fo! Big names don’t mean quality and believe me there’s a lot of it in the name Luke Williams. Luke Williams has been mixing his fingers to a pulp since his early teens; his results have been interesting to say the least. Naturalism believes that the parties that make your belly go funny are the ones where the talent is raw and fresh. William’s style is most definitely one that reflects his time. The boundaries blur as tech morphs seamlessly into minimal and minimal humps the back of electro. Williams doesn’t fuck about with his selection smashing genre into genre creating a most definite cross breed of party madness. With 4 decks and special guest overlapping sexy acapellas across his dark and bouncy set, Naturalism can’t wait to put its new toy out for the kids to play with.
