"All that we call human history--money, poverty, ambition, war, prostitution, classes, empires, slavery--[is] the long terrible story of man trying to find something other than God which will make him happy."
--Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis
I'm a very deep yet shallow person all at the same time. I care deeply about so many of the important things, yet I also really really care about my hair and if I look good in pictures I post on my page. It's true, and sounds bad, but there it is, the good and the bad. Take me or leave me. I love to laugh, I love to give, and I love to hear others laugh, especially my little boy (best sound ever). I love my friends as though were my family (some of them are my family), and I'm constantly thinking about the ones that aren't here with me on a daily basis, even though I never call, because I'm lazy like that, and I hate the phone (yet I still manage to go over my minutes).
I love to write fiction, and have posted some of it, but if you do read any of it, please note THE CHAPTER NUMBERS. They're there for a reason. They are chronological. Oh yeah, and I'm kind of snarky at times (look it up). :) But I'm nice. At least that's my goal. I think if everyone were nice and polite and used manners this world would be a much more livable place. Why doesn't anyone ever use manners anymore? They're nice! They're a good way of showing people you care.
Forget treating others how you want to be treated. Listen to them and get to know how *they* want to be treated. We're all so busy listening to ourselves that we don't ever listen to people anymore. It's our culture and it's messed up. It's all me me me. You see it all the time on the freeway. It's time we took a step back and evaluated what's really important in life. No, it's not just us, it's those around us, including the people we don't know. What are we raising our children to be?
