I've been listening to Jungle since the late days of 1994. My older brother Alex used to throw house parties and as a young boy, I was always jumping around with his mates only for him to drag me back upstairs saying 'your to young for this bruv'.I new alot of DJ's and other people who were also trying to breal onto the scene some of them made it. Many a familar face could be found lurking in dark corners of my basement when it was party night. Those days influenced me in big ways even if I didn't want them to at the time. It was an environment which easily effected a young mind. As you can imagine I used to steal many tapes and CD's off Alex and his friends.When I started secondary school I met a guy called Dann C. He was into Jungle but he called it Drum & Bass. Dann would talk about DJ's like Goldie, Doc Scott and Roni Size. I was hooked.By the time I was 14, I was going to any D'n'B event I could get into. Dann had bought a set of Technics 1210's and was constantly getting sent records from his older sister Sarah who along with Doc Scott ran 31 records.
I began learning to Dj after I left school. Finding it difficult at first my enthusiasm for the Drum 'n' Bass kept me practising any chance I could. By the time I was eighteen I had my own decks and soundsystem and was throwing parties in my basement, and a variety of venues in the crazy little bubble town of Harpenden.I eventually got a monthly residency at a venue called 24-7 Club in the countryside of St Albans. It's been running since December 2007 and all have been very succesfull.
