Martin Gaspar (1972), bass guitarist, double bassist, producer, arranger, composer. In 1992 he made his professional debut with Czechoslovak pop star Robo Grigorov. At that time, besides his own jazz projects, he also became a member of Radio Bing Band Orchestra and well-known Gustav Brom Orchestra, which toured, among others, with Ray Charles and Liza Minelli.
In 1994 he started playing with funk band Made II Mate. He became a much-sought-after recording session and concert artist, played with top Slovak and Czech pop and jazz stars, recorded more than 100 albums, and played many concerts worldwide. In 1995 he started playing with renowned European jazz vocalist Peter Lipa. Since 1995 he has recorded with Peter Lipa four studio albums, two live albums and a live DVD and has played with him many concerts in Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, Switzerland, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Italy, Sweden, UK, Hungary, Mexico, USA. For the last album, Lipa spieva Lasicu, he received prestigious Slovak music award Aurel as a producer of the year. He had already won this award in 2003 as a producer of the album of singer Jana Kirschner. In 2005 he recorded original motion picture soundtrack with saxophonist Maceo Parker.
Currently he also plays with BKK Trio, which is a joint jazz project with top Slovak jazz players, pianist Juraj Tatár and drummer Marcel Buntaj. In 2004 they released their debut album Bukake Jazz.
