Welcome One and Welcome All!Hi!I'm Marina, 24 years old, from London...
Feel free to add yourself, have a listen to my tracks, tell your friends and of course... leave me a message :-)
Ok well I suppose I should tell you a bit about me... singing, acting, presenting and dancing are my main passions in life, but I also love shopping, holidays......jetskis, sunbathing on a beautiful sandy beach somewhere hot...I love visiting new places and I love FOOD!!!! I love theme parks and will always be the one to go on the scariest of rollercoasters (!) I'm a very girlie girl, but also quite a tomboy at heart too ;-)
MUSIC wise...I’ve been singing since the age of 13, and have 5 years vocal training to my credit, being trained in both pop and musical theatre.
Growing up, I was always passionate about music and learned to play clarinet up to Grade 6, which consequently led to my ability to read music and play/sing by ear. I especially love harmonies, as I tend to hear them instantly and pick them up very easily.
At the age of 15 I began to write and record voiceovers and jingles for various BBC radio stations, including some for Steve Wright’s Sunday Love Songs on BBC Radio 2. My jingles are still played out on this radio show to this day.
After this, I spent some years singing with live bands – live performances include The Commercial Radio Nominations, along with Beth Rowley, The Commercial Radio Awards and performing on the main stage at Birmingham Pride earlier this year, shortly before Katrina and the Waves.
I continued to sing with bands until I was chosen to lead sing for a James Bond album, released in 2004 - “James Bond, The Essential Themesâ€. My vocal of Nobody Does It Better was chosen a few years later (2007) to be featured on another album “Simply Womanâ€, alongside artists such as Gloria Gaynor, Tina Turner and Billie Holiday.
My vocals have also featured on the recently released album in 2008 “Love Songs – The Ultimate Collection†alongside artists such as Frank Sinatra, Van Morrison and Peggy Lee.
In 2006 I recorded the soundtrack for the film “Stephen Burrow’s Worldâ€, a film about one of the “Sex and the City†designers, featuring Naomi Campbell. This was launched New York and was also bought by four U.S. TV channels.
In 2007 I was chosen for a girl band, Kissing Freddie, musically directed by Ben Adams. Our tracks were played on various radio stations, and Tony Blackburn in particular gave our tracks a huge amount of airplay.
Early this year I was cast as part of another girl band for BBC 1. We were lucky enough to be chosen as one of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s final 7 acts, but only 6 could go through to the live shows and we were just beaten to it!
Most recently, I worked with Il Divo’s producers on a project which was great fun. This consisted of both live and studio session work.
I have also recorded backing vocals for various artists and projects, the most recent being for an X Factor contestant’s debut album, to be released in 2009.
