all about us...
Initially conceived as a vehicle for the acoustic songs of Stourbridge based Singer/Songwriter Tony Homer, Neighbourhood Records has since broadened its horizons to embrace the whole genre of the musical spectrum in its catalogue. Our first release: "Easy Street" will feature original material by singer/songwriter Tony Homer . Other titles in the pipeline are a compilation album tentatively entitled "There Goes The Neighbourhood Vol.1" featuring the best of local rock, country, blues, & indie artists to be followed by "Neighbourhood Dubs" which will feature inspired beats from the electronica, reggae, funk, hip-hop, jazz and DNB stable. At least that's the idea...
We hope that you enjoy what you hear and welcome your comments. If you have any questions (or answers!) or any booking queries please feel free to get in touch.

all about me...
"I have always been into music from a very early age and always loved to play music whenever the opportunity arose but it wasn't until the late 70's that my personal musical journey really began. I began working in the music security business for people such as Roy Orbison, The Drifters, Bill Hayley & the Comets, Gene Pitney and The Bay City Rollers. The scene in those days was fantastic and the bug caught me. I first joined a working band in the early 80's as lead vocalist with classic rock band Shinook. We did numerous gigs around the country but the highlight for me was supporting Hawkwind, Roy Harper & The Enid at the 1984 Stonehenge Festival."
It was during the 90's that he formed Gone Broke and in addition to numerous gigs around the country the band held court at a weekly residency at Celebrity's Restaurant, Birmingham. It was during the latter part of this period that he invited DJ/Percussionist Nasty Jack to join the band.
After the untimely passing from a heart attack of rhythm-guitarist Kevin Fogarty the band was also laid to rest with him (R.I.P) only to be resurrected some months later as The Insufferables; a short-lived band which featured Nasty Jack on percussion, multi-instrumentalist Mick Wood formerly of ManianaRama on drums & synths, and bassist Chris "Charlie" Brown currently slapping thighs with Highway Dave & The Varmints.
Tony has worked with numerous professional musicians over the years including being invited on one memorable occasion to front Robert Plant's Honey Drippers whilst Robert responded to the call of nature. (Contrary to popular belief the Zeppelin Titan is Human!) Rocking an appreciative audience with a storming medley of classic R&R Standards, and ably supported by a tight backing band that featured members of Bronco & Chicken Shack, Tony became irrevocably smitten with the idea of devoting the rest of his life to making music .
It was shortly after this inspirational experience that Tony sold his soul (yet again) for a cheap second-hand guitar and taught himself to play so that he could at least accompany himself in his now chosen career: To write and perform his own compositions.
With a passion for all forms of music Tony draws his inspiration from a broad canvas of rock, country, reggae, blues & jazz, and more importantly from Life’s experiences itself!
He is currently working the local acoustic clubs occasionally with harmony-vocalist Hannah and is writing & performing songs that could be best described as ‘jazz-tinged blues’. He has also recently toured the Pacific Island of Guam & the USA with gigs in San Francisco, Chicago & New York. He has also completed studio work for DNB/Dub Producer DJ Aries (Co-Lab/Lion Dubs/Pure Vibez).
