About Me

Drexel Hodge- A singer / songwriter from Mingo, WV, with depth, heart and a heavy hand on being original, while mixing folk, rock, and easy listening, He has created a style of his own. Drexel has been influenced by the music of our nations history, such as early mountain music, folk music, sixties rock, and eastern classical, While being labeled Acoustic/Folk Rock Drexel has been receiving radio play in quite a few different states. While first playing electric guitar, he moved to other instruments, such as acoustic guitars, piano, harmonica, bass, drums, banjo and mandolin. Drexel has been compared to some of the greats in the folk industry, such as Bob Dylan and Jerry Garcia, but he stays modest, Hodge says with a laugh " I am a singer / song writer first, If people like it, then great, and if not, I wont lose any sleep". Hodge concludes that he is finding out that "alot of young guys think music is a competition, music is not about that, if you let other people control what you think and write, you are killing yourself". Drexel is developing a big following in the Acoustic/Folk Rock scene and is making his place in an industry that is overfilled.--J.D Charles, The Logan Banner--

excuse me miss
