Hau Mitakuyapi! We would like to thank you for visiting our page!We are a Northern style drum group, who sings contemporary style and occasionally will sing strait style! We formed as a group in May 2007 and have brought our unique style to each powwow we attended throughout the year. We are a very close-nit drum group as we have respect for everyone around us! Our goal as a drum group is to bring our music to each celebration, with the hopes of making the dancers and relatives feel good.As some of you know, we have won the prestigous drum competition titled Powwow Idol! This competition is modeled after the popular American Idol, instead focusing on drum groups. The goal of Powwow Idol is to find the best unsigned drum group in the nation, U.S. and Canada. After 7 months of voting, we appreciate all the support, which we have recieved in this competition, and are humbled to be this years Powwow Idol!The Powwow Idol win, is a tribute to all of our teachers! Singing was passed down to us by our teachers and we would like to thank them for showing us what the responsibilities, of a being singer, are.We especially enjoy listening to other drum groups, and we would look forward to seeing the singers and dancers on the 2008 Powwow Trail!Hau Mitakuye Oyasin!Standing Horse Singers
