Simple. I want to be happy with who I am, with what I do, and with who I am with. Actually, after all these years, these things are not as simple as you think but I try everyday.
[ The words I live by ]
... Actions speak louder than words ...
[ What a friend is ]
To some people, a friend is practically anyone they know.
To me, friendship means a much closer relationship,
one in which you take the time to really understand each other.
A friend is someone you trust enough to share a part of yourself
the rest of the world may never see.
That kind of friendship doesn..t come along everyday
but that..s the way it should be.
When it comes to friends,
It..s quality, not quantity, that counts
And with you, I know I have the very best.
To everyone who I have had the pleasure of knowing
this goes out to all of you...
[ Is It Love? ]
Are your palms sweaty,.. is your heart racing? And is your voice caught within your chest?
-It isn..t love, its like.
You can..t keep your eyes or hands off them,.. Am I right?
-It isn..t love, its lust.
Are you proud and eager to show them off?
-It isn..t love, it..s luck.
Are you there just because it..s what everyone wants?
-It isn..t love, it..s loyalty.
Do you stay for their confessions of love, because you don..t want to hurt them?
-It isn..t love, it..s pity.
Are you willing to give up all of your favorite things for their sake?
-It isn..t love, it..s charity.
Are you there because they kissed you, or held your hand?
-It isn..t love, it..s confidence.
Do you pardon their faults because you care about them?
-It isn..t love, it..s friendship.
Do you tell them everyday that they are the only one you think of?
-It isn..t love, its a lie.
But do you accept their faults because those faults are a part of who you are? And do you see their true heart, and touch your soul so deeply that it hurts? Are you attracted to others, but stay with them faithfully without regret? Would you give them your heart.. your life.. your death, and stay because a blinding incomprehensible mix of pain and elation pulls you close and holds you?...
-Then it..s love.
True love may only come once in someone..s lifetime. Sometimes we may never find it at all. But when and if you do, never let go of it.. for you may be leting go of something worth holding on to, Never second guess them, for your assumptions may be wrong as your intention. Never make promises, for promises are always meant to be broken. Never be afraid of telling them the truth, for you can only be respected if the truth needs to known. Never tell them a lie, for you may have to live with the guilt for the rest of your life. Never close the door on them if you don..t want to, for you may still want the opportunity to feel welcome into their home. Never stay if it doesn..t feel right, for you may hurt them more if you pretend that you want to stay. Never say you..re sorry, without looking into their eyes. Never leave them feeling hurt, for they will remember the hurt more than they will remember the love. And never say good-bye,... especially if you may want another try.
People come and go.. true ones come and stay. That instant moment may feel so good.. but what lies ahead may determine lifelong happiness. Learn to appreciate what you have and what you had.. because you never know what tomorrow may hold.
For tommorrow is never promised.. and that opportunity may pass you by.
