This page is dedicated in memory of Jared Clayton, an adventurer who died of brain cancer at the age of 19 in 2004. Jared was born in Nederland, Texas on August 14, 1984. He managed to see more of the world than most people do in their full lifetime, and in a way that few could ever understand. Costa Rica, Mexico, France, England, Switzerland, Germany, Italy....but New Zealand was his "Paradise." In August of 2004, Jared's brother and a close family friend set off on an expedition to New Zealand to scatter his cremains. Finally, on what would have been Jared's 20th birthday, the two scattered his cremains at the Franz Josef Glacier. Eight months later, Jared's brother and partner, mother, stepfather, and stepmother returned to New Zealand to visit the site on the one year anniversary of Jared's death..April 21, 05. Two documentaries were filmed, capturing the beauty and emotions throughout these expeditions. Most of the music you will hear on this page was used in the two films. This site is for friends, family, and all others Jared has inspired.
