My youth was tragically wasted looking far off into space while listening to
old R&B and pop on the AM Detroit radio and arguing with my brother, now a
hot-shit lawyer, but just in college and a DJ at the time, about what every
single song was really trying to say. I knew by the age of 12 that I had to
write play and produce music. Nothing else mattered. To this day, nothing
else really matters to me. I¹m a dedicated full time songwriter and have a
deep love and respect for the craft. I produce music for a living at my old
school analog studio in downtown Los Angeles called Bigscarytree. Over the
years I have had the honor and privilege to work with some amazing gifted
players and writers and also a few pretty crazy senseless characters with
really cool haircuts and a whole lot less talent than sense! There was a
lesson learned in every single session and I¹m so grateful for all the
amazing relationships through the years! Hey I haven¹t had real job in a
long long time so thank you!!! I still currently play in a few bands...

the music. I produced all the music and wrote or co-wrote some songs on
their pages too! Also I am playing out around town and beyond with my fun
little trio called Jeb Lipson and the Dually Noted, featuring Jacob Martinez
on upright bass and Luke Halpin on fiddle and mandolin. We do all my songs
and are currently recording my first solo album in Tucson with Chris
Burroughs producing. I¹m always writing and have been a lone solitary writer
for many decades. Lately I¹ve entered into a few co-writing relationships
and have found the process fun and productive. I can be a cynical little
cuss but get me focused on something new and exciting and sometimes good
things can happen! Over the years as a world-class guitar geek I have
somehow collected a rather large stash of amazing vintage instruments and
amplifiers. I have a new company called Vintage Tone Design that rents the
entire collection for a reasonable day rate including a technician for
recording purposes. The list is stunning. Feel free to contact me for any of
your recording needs. I¹m also a supernova fly-fishing geek and I have been
known to disappear at times into the wild for weeks on end to clear my head
and get away from yuppies and land developers and lawyers and any one else
in self appointed positions of power. I also Telemark (free-heel) ski in
the winter to try and be cooler than other skiers and boarders but I have
come to realize no one really cares! Lately, I eat pho about everyday; I
also have several bird watching books in my old pickem up truck and have
been known to stop in rush hour city traffic and look up a bird I have never
seen and ad him to my list! My last thought for this little rambling, "music
is not a sport but sometimes it's just fun to see how many notes you can
play per second"!!
