Hello Friends and thank you for coming to Myspace and getting to know me.
I live in LA – CA. with my husband Sascha and our two boys. We moved here on the fourth of July 2006 so Sascha could pursue his acting career. I’ll tell you more about that later.
But first, let me tell you a little about myself. I was born in Colombia South America and I'm fluent in both Spanish and English. I was only 3 when my family made the move to Chicago, IL. Growing up in the Midwest was wonderful as I was able to experience the change of seasons, which left me with so many great memories.
From my father, I learned how important it was to get an education , so I studied hard in school and later went to college to Major in Interior Design. There were countless sleepless nights and endless hours of work on school projects. It wasn't easy but I believed that one day... all of that hard work would pay off!
My mom, the other hand, liked to enjoy the simple things. Many times we went to hang out on Michigan Ave. in Down Town Chicago. She would take me shopping at Watertower Place. We would enjoy eating truffles at Neiman Marcus.
I was excited to start my first real job but little did I know that I would turn out hating something that I had just invested 4 years of my life in. It wasn't my field of choice or my first boss that I was disenchanted with, it was the grunt work I was given. It didn't provide me with any creative output and that almost drove me out of the Interior Design Industry all together.
Completely frustrated, I changed careers after only 6 months and spent the next 3 years of my life learning Real Estate. What I learned, I later implemented to acquire a nice nest egg from that experience. I reluctantly got back to the Interior Design Industry.
It was around that time that I met and married Sascha and we've been together now for 20 years. We moved to Florida along with my parents who are my heroes. I feel that they really instilled the importance of family in my life. Sascha and I both decided to start a family early. We had been married just one year when we had our first son. Just 6 years later we had our 2nd. It was a bit of a struggle having to work and get everything together to drop the kids at preschool before and after going to work.
I look back and wonder how we made it through the hardships that go along with kids and 2 working parents. Sascha had an advertising career and also worked long hours, so when it came to the kids, we played parental tag team. On days that the kids, or anyone of us, were sick we took turns to call in sick to work and at times, even lost wages.
A Vacation We Couldn't Afford
Living in south Florida made us feel like we were always on vacation. The only problem was we were always working too hard to enjoy it . We could see everyone else enjoying it, yet for us, it was just out of reach. Now don't get me wrong, we did get to travel a little bit by going on a couple of cruises in Orlando, which were really amazing. We even had a boat for about three years and we would go skiing and just cruising on the waterways. We also took up scuba diving yet my favorite is sailing because it’s so peaceful.
We were in South Florida for 16 years where we left part of our extended family to come to LA. You see, Sascha changed careers about 9 years ago. He made the decision to pursue his lifelong dream of acting. Worry about money created some challenges, but his strong belief in his dream inspired me to be very supportive. There were many times that he worked long hours in a 2 nd JOB to make ends meet putting his dreams of acting aside.
Throughout my career I experienced a lot of growth yet, like Sascha, the reality was that I was still stuck in the grind of exchanging time for money . Truth be told... I made just enough money to earn what some would consider "a decent living". It just wasn't satisfying enough for me. I've always been open to alternative ways of earning an additional income, but failed several times with Home Based Business Opportunities for reasons you probably already know. It's not as easy as most people make it out to be.
I knew there had to be something out there for me to sink my financial teeth into. Up until recently, even though I worked out of my home with my job, I still I had to ask my boss for days off. It was this feeling of desperation that drove me to find a way to become financially free.
New Beginnings
Our move to LA, you can say it was a blessing from God that the opportunity came for us. We packed up our most personal belongings and sold everything and rented out our house in Florida. We took a 4 day road trip to the west coast stopping along the way to visit family and friends. It was also such a blessing that we had the support of extended family in areas of Southern California.
Even our 9 year old boxer was in tow. She was such a trooper the whole trip. She was actually very sick and we didn’t realize how sick she was until we had been in our new home after a week and she passed away. It was very sad for all of us. At the same time we always try and look at the bright side of things and feel that she is in a better place. We had some great memories with her and we had to come to terms that she was not going to share with us in the new chapter of our lives.
I kept asking myself “What can I do differently?†I started to get serious about what I wanted, and set my goals and actions to reach those dreams so that I could have the time and financial freedom that I wanted.
Health Became My Priority
I started to focus on me, as I felt that my health was not at the best that it could be. Due to stress, I gained those annoying extra pounds and they just wouldn’t go away . So, I reluctantly dragged myself to the gym and started to workout, and it was at that time that God found me a solution.
