About Me

The challenge is to not believe everything you hear. Do you trust your own experience?
I grew up in Northern California, sang with San Francisco Boys Chorus which brought me to the stages of San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Symphony, the Hollywood Bowl, Great Woods Orchestra, and into the studio with Neil Young for one day.
I awakened to the language of the guitar while seeking the secret, underlying flow of the Grateful Dead, and began picking my way around the axe after encountering Jack Kerouac. After following several jam bands, I grew disastisfied with the music I listened to, and began seeking more. Jazz filled the void, and I had the good fortune to study with such masters as Herbie Lewis, Larry Coryell, Scott Henderson, Jimmy Wyble, Jean Marc Belkadi, and Fabrice Vignati, among many others.
I worked with the Hot Fab Djazz Club from 2005 to 2008, and have shared the stage with the likes of Marcus Singletary, Jeremy Ferrick, Chris Murphy, and Kia Colton and Chris Hawley.
2009 has started with a bang, with 2 gigs in Venice, California, including a great successful evening at O'Brien's Irish Pub with the Dirty Suits (great inexpensive drinks, cool layout, excellent bands) and the Chris Murphy Orchestra the very next morning at the Santa Monica Farmer's Market on Main Street (the finest Farmer's Market in L.A.).
Keep your eyes open for upcoming projects and events from here forth. A toast to excellence in music, a toast to living in this world! I'm just happy to be here.....!

The Dirty Suits are hosting a fund raiser towards our next studio production. Therefore, we're selling CD's and Mp3's of Jaime Sol Black's 2006 studio recording, "Ready For Trouble." Recorded in Boston and released in 2006 through Suma Records, "Ready for Trouble" brings together a driving team of punk, rock and rockabilly musicians from the east coast together with Jaime's excellent songwriting and delivery.

As Jeffrey Pegg from "405 East" wrote: "Big band zoot suit sound with rock-a-hellbilly gun powder blasting rhythm charring every note, racing to keep pace with the rebel hot rod vocals of Jaime Sol Black." Purchase your copy today, and we promise to blow your mind with brand new music from the Dirty Suits!

Out of the Clouds

Picked up Jeremy at his home, blocking driveways and traffic on a usually tame street. He hopped in and started chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, to which I joined in. We made it to Jaime's in 13 minute...
