Martin Plascencia

Hi there! Some of you may know me as Ernesto Plascencia, my middle name, but decided to switch to my first one, so we both are the same guy!!! Born and raised in Mexico City, started to play the Electric Bass at age 16; quite late, though. Formed several bands influenced by the music I was listening at that time: Everything from „Guns n’ Roses” to the early „U2” albums. After attending to a „Casipoea” concert, my interest on the instrument became quite high and decided to start studying Music Theory and Harmony and to practice as much as I could. Besides, I was attending college and finished a career in advertising and gigged during weekends as well; So was everything but easy! Some of the projects I have worked with are "Necronos", "Galeria Del Trastorno" and "Negro"; Prog-Rock Bands in which, Besides had formed the first one and had replaced former bassists in the other two, re-arranged, recorded, mixed and produced albums and demoes released by them, too.In 1997 I received an invitation to join Latin-Pop band "Amen" and also started to gig on-board several Carnival Cruise Lines’ vessels for about 3 plus years.On December 1999, was profiled in "Bass Player" magazine and also I am the first player pictured on mentioned publishing holding a "Fabregues" bass, what led me to get a little endorsment.In between contracts, joined Guitar-Great Pavel Cal and Drummer Javier "Funky" Sosa; Formerly in "Sin Bandera" and "Maldita Vecindad", respectively, in Funk-Soul project "La Franja".Back in Mexico, I taught bass at “Academia de Musica Fermatta” and formed „Toda la Banda” in the year 2000.In 2002 joined the "Carnival ships’" gig again, but this time as Band Leader and Musical Director with "Toda La Banda", on-board the „M/S Carnival Destiny”.Currently, I established myself in Poland.
