Pagans Against Abuse

I am here for Networking

About Me

..
WHO AM I?
I am a survivor.
I'm coming up on ten years being free of my abuser.
I am someone who is concerned about all the violence in our society. It seems to pervade every part of our existence.
I am also a peer counselor, a volunteer in the DV community, and I am working toward a degree in counseling. My heart is in helping and healing.
You will find my story scattered in the blog posts here. Our goal is to provide a clearing-house of information, inspirational stories of survival and hope.
We know people from all walks of life who have survived abuse. We know men and women. We know same sex couples. In our own household we know two amazing children who have survived the unthinkable.
If we can end Child Abuse, we really ARE nipping it in the bud. We are giving new hope to the world, and so we work closely with Petra Luna to that end. You will find links to resources that focus specifically on Child Abuse, and finding lost children.
As our name states, we are Pagans, taking a stand against abuse. Pagans often get a bad rap, and are persecuted because of our misunderstood religious beliefs. This too, is part of our mission. We hope to educate the general public that we are, as a whole, a kind, culturally minded, socially conscious people, who wish to make the world a better place by ending abuse in all forms.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

ReligiousTolerence.Org will give you the complete history of the word Pagan, as well as the well-accepted definitions of Pagan. For general purposes here, we will say that Pagan is a broad sweeping term used to embrace many beliefs that stand outside the generally accepted Abrahamic religions. This is including -- but not limited to -- Wicca, Witchcraft (in its many and diverse forms), Asatru (not to include racist views), Buddhism, Taoism, Shinto, Hindu, and many other misunderstood religions not listed here. While we do understand that many of these philosophies and religions would not normally be listed as "Pagan," and might even be offended by being included in this list, it is our desire to show a united front in the face of an otherwise uneducated world.
