About Me

I create fun fantastical 3D sculptures, inspired from imagery that are presented in dreams and life experiences. I am a self taught non institutionalized artist! Native to Los Angeles. I use recycled materials mainly steel and various types of metals, wood and automotive salvage. I have worked as a metal fabricator in the past to pay the bills, so yes I make my own art not just conceptualize it. I enjoy the hands on part especially using power tools and welding. I am LA City and AWS certified in structural and semi automatic welding processes. My first big metal sculpture project/inspiration, was working with Lisa Nigro on the birth of "Draka" in 2000. To read more about "Draka" the amazing beastess goto drakaarts.org Before that my body of work was limited to small works and drawings, since then most of my work has had no size limitations I do however design/build for transport, so all my pieces will break down and fit on a truck or into a container for shipping. In 2006 I was commissioned to make animals for an ongoing exhibit called "Noah's Ark" at the Skirbal Cultural Center in Los Angeles, please go and check it out if you are in the area. Also locally I had the opportunity to be part of an amazing design team that constructed the "Dino" exhibit at the Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana Ca. you can see the life size brontosaurus if you are driving on the 5fwy north side. I created three Public Art pieces for the City of Long Beach in 2006/07 that were later auctioned off to collectors. My most recent work is displayed on El Paseo Dr. in the City of Palm Desert for the "El Paseo Invitational" thru 2010. Both those pieces are for sale through the City of Palm Desert Public Arts department. Or send me a message if interested.
