Professor Greg plays Rock and Roll for the 10 and Under Crowd. Yet this wasn't always the case. A veteran of the Chicago music scene, Professor Greg, like so many other parents of young children, found most children's music to be lacking the power of the music he enjoyed. So, with Les Paul in hand, the Professor began to pen rock and roll anthems with lyrical content suitable for young ears.
Emerging from the various day care centers and grade school auditoriums of the Chicagoland area, Professor Greg is poised to soar to the top of the kids music scene with his debut album, Kids Want To Rock. Kids Want To Rock, channels Professor Greg's easily digested vocals with straightforward guitar work to turn out a record boiling over with pre-teen anthems. With standout tracks like "Hungry Monster," and the Black Crowe's-like "Bed Time", look for Professor Greg to be a major force in the kid's rock landscape for years to come.
As a young lad, the Professor's parents introduced him to the music of The Beatles, The Supremes, The Temptations, Jimi Hendrix, Focus, Janis Joplin, and many other greats of the 50's, 60's and 70's. Friday nights he would stay up late watching The Midnight Special and Don Kirshner's Rock Concert. It was on one of these nights he saw Dr. Hook performing. One of the guitarists was playing a Gibson Les Paul and controlling the volume knob with his pinky finger as he played. From that moment on, the Professor was hooked.
As he grew, the Professor discovered the music of Kiss, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Queen and Rush. His parents bought him several guitars. He practiced day and night. He joined and quit numerous bands; he bought more guitars. Then one day he became a father. His children became his biggest fans, and he entertained them with an acoustic guitar and his voice. Eventually he began to write songs for children everywhere - Rock & Roll songs for kids. After all, Kids Want To Rock too!
Professor Greg continues to delight children and parents everywhere with his brand of family friendly rock and roll. He continues to build a loyal fan base in the Chicago area and beyond. In addition to writing and performing music for kids, the Professor also writes and performs music for grown-ups.
