Michael was born on Aruba. He grew up in a family with a lot of latin music and after playing piano, violin, bass and guitar he started to play percussion.... and never stopped!In 1991 he graduated at the Conservatory of Rotterdam. He travelled to Brasil, Cuba and Africa to study with percussionists and masterdrummers like: Changuito, Roberto Vizcaino, Justo Pelladito, Madouchele ect.In 1994 he started his percussionschool: Sambalanco. With Sambalanco he performed in Denmark, France, Germany, Belgium and Holland.Besides playing percussion, Michael also started composing music in which he uses all kinds of influences. You can hear some of his compositions and hopefully you will enjoy them!
