NOT OFFICIAL-JUST A FAN PAGE!!!In 1983 drummer Bill Schmidt was fired from a Chicago based metal band called Warcry due to an altercation with guitarist Marty Fitzgerald at a concert. Bill Schmidt had earlier on received a phone call from none other than Dave Mustaine (Metallica and Megadeth) who wanted Scmidt to audition after the first record. Bill asked what's your motivation for Megadeth and Mustaine said, "You know -- the chicks" and Schmidt hung up on him. Late that year he started jamming with fellow Warcry bassist Paul Speckmann in a storage unit in Mt. Prospect which was a small Chicago suburb. In November of 1984 Paul's father passed away and Schmidt was offered a position in another local act called Mayhem. Paul started looking through the Illinois Entertainer and noticed that a guy called Chris Mittelbrun was looking for an aggressive metal outfit. Bill and Paul had actually auditioned Mittelbrun the year before but then he was playing in a local Judas Priest influenced metal band called Transgressor. A full line-up was established and in January of 1985 the band entered Open Reel Studios in Lynwood, Illinois, to record the "Fuckin' Death" demo. Drummer John Leprich could not get one of the songs done right and therefore Bill Schmidt was brought in to finish that song ("Pay To Die"). In July 1985 Bill joined Chris and Paul once again and Deathstrike was put to rest. This became the birth of the band Master.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
