SOUNDCLASH--Originally modeled after the sound systems of Jamaica. "A Sound System is a popular type of nomadic outdoor concert/party. Its concept first became popular in the 1950s, in the ghettos of Kingston. The sound system scene is generally regarded as an important part of Jamaican cultural history and as being responsible for the rise of modern Jamaican musical styles such as ska and dub."
Keeping this in mind, SoundClash started out as a reggae/ska/dub party. This didn't last long though. SoundClash promoters soon decided to venture further into the subculture sounds of the city branching off into punkrock shows, Hardcore shows elctro/indie rock shows etc.
At this point, using Lotus Sound Bar as our venue, our goal is to bring top tier quality independent bands to the stage while allowing newer promising bands of all genres to perform together with DJs owning deep libraries of sound, who will spin music that will compliment the style/genre that is being represented on each evening.
