About Me

Sydney-born and bred singer-songwriter Sally Singleton epitomises the best of Australian character. There's that sense of freedom and "can do", the ability to laugh at yourself and never take anything too seriously.
The 24-year-old has injected all those uniquely Aussie attitudes into her debut single, 'Tomorrow'.
"Tomorrow is very much me speaking," says Sally of the bubbly pop song which makes you want to dance around in a sun shower with outstretched arms. It was produced by Jimmy Harry (Pink and Britney).
"It's commercial and pop but there's also a rawness about it which isn't too polished."
Tomorrow's spirit belies the fact that it actually came out of a bad situation. Sally was going through an unhappy time and went to visit songwriting friend Barbara Griffin (Joe Cocker, Delta Goodrem, Alex Lloyd and Nessa Morgan) to commiserate.
She didn't want to talk about what was upsetting her and Barbara said she was going to play piano for a while. As she played, Sally started sharing by singing.
"I started talking about picking yourself up and all the things I had to look forward to."
Barbara was recording the moment and before both of them knew it, they'd written a song.
"It was really nice and natural. The lyrics are honest and that's probably because we didn't labour over them. People are also at their most vulnerable when they are honest and it worked because we weren't trying to write a song.
"I like 'Tomorrow' because it's positive, up-lifting and gives hope even though it came from a dark place."
