Steve with Jason Isaacs on set
Steve was born and raised in Liverpool, England. He began his broadcasting career as a presenter on Mersey Community Radio FM in 1994 and got his first paid commission as a freelance producer with the Tate Modern when he was 18.
He was later commissioned by the Liverpool Council Arts Unit and worked as studio technician on the Hearing Is Believing project. Broadcasting from the Bluecoat Arts Centre in Liverpool, it was the first experimental arts radio station in Britain.
He has been living and working in Spain since 2006 where he is kept busy as a radio producer and broadcaster. He runs seminars on media production and is always looking for interesting music to play and people to interview on his radio show.
Steve tells us the highlight of his career was interviewing his musical hero Jay Semko (writer of the Due South music...you know, the one with the Mountie and the wolf...) and getting the opportunity to set up radio stations here in Spain.
He recently dabbled in the acting arena and worked with fellow Liverpool actor Jason Isaacs (Luscious Malfoy from Harry Potter) when he came to Spain to film his scenes for the Spanish historical epic The El Escorial Conspiracy. Steve was an Inquisition guard!
Since we launched our podcasts last Christmas we have had over half a million downloads. Thanks to all of our fantastic listeners! Without you Steve would be nothing more than a Scouse bloke sitting in a room, dressed (I think) like a pirate and talking to himself all day. Well, he does that anyway, but.....let us move on me thinks....
We would love to know what you the listener is thinking - about life, music, anything at all for that matter. Send in your mp3 audio recordings and videos and we will include them in our podcasts and broadcasts here in Spain.
We are also looking for unsigned artistes to play local venues in Liverpool.
[email protected]Steve was too much of a lazy git to write this, so I had to write this for him!
