About Me

I was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. Lived there for 24 years, then 1 year in the UK and the last 6 years in the USA.
I would like to say that I am the triple threat in the entertainment world because I sing, act and dance. Acting is honestly my ULTIMATE passion where I hope to end up on the Big Screen but singing has always been an equal passion that I have ALWAYS done since I was first able to vocalize.
I have been in every choir throughout my school years, sang lead vocals in musicals over 12 years in South Africa, sang at retirement homes, hospitals and foster care facilities and been part of a church band since 8th grade both in South Africa and now here in the US.
My goal was to one day be part of a band and sing backing vocals (at least) on a cd. When I moved to California in 2002 I was picked up by a Russian producer and composer for 18 months and worked on an album which unfortunately was never released and never picked up for reproduction. This was a great opportunity to learn about the business and to grow my skills & I thank both Dimitri and Eugene for seeing something in me, believing in me & spending their time and money on me.
In 2006 I wrote my first song "Dreams Do Come True". I was surprised that I wrote a song because I didn't know I could do that and had been looking for someone to WRITE the songs so I could SING the music. Below you can watch me singing the FIRST song I ever wrote. This is pretty much how it sounded when I first composed it back in August 2006. I am working on a more current version with Dan and we'll be changing things up ait later on. Hope you like!

Through God.....fate (as some might call it)....Near the end of 2006 I met Dan. I told him I needed to collaborate with someone as I wasn't good at writing but could sing and he is an excellent musician. I showed him what I had written and he loved it. He played me some of the music he has written and I loved it and immediately I had some ideas, words, melodies running through my mind.
We were a musical match made in heaven. Within a few weeks we had 2 full songs finished and with Dreams Do Come True that made 3 songs. We have now completed 4 songs and working on about 8!
Dan and I also started performing together, on occasion, at his church, The Well. I still play and sing every week at St Joseph The Worker on Sherman Way. Dan has also been hired to sing and play at another church in the Valley.
Now its 2008 and FINALLY we have put up 3 studio versions of our songs that we worked on with a producer. SORRY it took so long...longer than we had wantd, but that's life, it doesn't always work out the way you want it too but you tae things as they come and you work with what you get.
Dan and I have just spent about $2,000 buying Pro-Tools Etc and I bought a Yamaha Digital Grand Piano so I can finally work on my own music for the songs and I am sooooo excited. MAJORLY rusty though because I basically only play piano by ear! HELP, LOL!
We are going to try and record the rest of the album on our own and we will get the rest of the tracks up as they come out, maybe even different versions of the ones that are on here as we have our own ideas of what we want too for these songs. We'd LOVE to hear from you, LOVE your input as you are HOPEFULLY going to become our fans, our friends, our family :-)
Thanks for listening and sharing and may God Bless each and every one of you.
God Bless
Georgie and Dan

Influences: GeorGie D:

Honestly, I always try to avoid this question because its hard for me to answer. I appreciate sooo many different genres of music and love so many artists.

When I write, I don't try to write like anyone. My main goal is to reach people, to help people feel something, to MOVE people. If the music doesn't move me, it won't move you. So, I don't really know if I can point out any particular artist that has influenced the way I write.

If anything, I'd have to say I'd have more influences in performance, i.e. singing, stage presence and dancing. For ex. Britney Spiers. I LOVE her stage presence, her dancing, she is a great entertainer. Actually, I LOVE to do a few of her songs at karaoke...specifically Toxic and I'm A Slave For You. Shocked.....I know you're probably wondering what kind of Christian girl I am right now but TRUST me, I am one of the good girls but I LOVE to do Britney......at karaoke that is!!! Its a chance for me to be sexy, fun, and flirty and to totally captivate my audience.

Singing Christian music is obviously a totally different ball game, its about feeling the spirit, feeling the LOVE of God, and helping the people around you feel it too. The only way they'll do that is if you let it SHINE out of you and you don't be afraid to let those emotions EMOTE while you are singing and you aren't afraid to JUST be FREE. That's why I LOVE to sing Christian music and just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes because it fills me with such joy and I KNOW how to share that with people, how to help them feel what I am feeling.

Sounds Like: People say that my sound is similar to Jewel, Madonna & Alanis. I DEFINITELY take that as a HUGE compliment. Howver I'd like to have my own signature sound, I think that's important!
