Paul Nohat

Paul Nohat was born in 1978 in Dunkerque, France. His fascination for music started in his childhood with the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, Daniel Balavoine, Phil Collins and many other French and English artists. As he got his first cd player at the age of 11, his urge to collect music started. He spent every month his entire pocket money to get to know new bands and new songs, new sounds. And when his money was gone, he recorded tapes from the radio. With 15 his parents gave him his first acoustic guitar. He learned to play it with the Nirvana Unplugged video like a lot kids during this time. But he didn’t get the chance to play in a band and concentrated his passion in buying every month new LPs. He got his first contact with the DJ world when he was 18 during the 1996 New Years Eve party. This should be not the last time. A lot of parties followed, where Nohat could share his sound with the people. Songs you like after the 5 first seconds. In 2003 he started to sing and play the rhythm guitar for Miss Akropolis, an electric 5 heads pop band using French, English and German to tell their own stories using their own melodies. “5 guys from the hamburger school are ready tonight to tickle your soul”…Till today he plays there. In the summer 2007, Nohat met Slatski, a true Hamburger guitarist and singer, who played as teenager with Pensen and Christian Ulmen. After a concert of the “monsters of Liedermaching”, completely drunk, they decided to found the acoustic pop/rock duo Slatski has Nohat. Till today they play together. He started some month after as DJ in a small sweet bar in the beautiful Hamburg Eimsbüttel, Lichtenstein Bar, till its closure in Mai 2008.
