Children of Nandi are a husband and wife duet based in Zurich, Switzerland. They got together in summer 1983 in Hamburg, Germany where they were based until 1990. On stage they are accompanied by their band comprising of four musicians. Children of Nandi's music is not so easy to categorise; one could call it “Southern African Street-Beat†or simply .... i.e. a fusion of real traditional “grassroots†harmonies from Southern African and modern contemporary rhythms like mbaqanga, kwaito and chimurenga from Zimbabwe treated with funk, reggae and r & b overtones.
